Giant Step Teen Conference 10/30/2012

ATTENTION SOUTHEAST MICHIGAN HIGH SCHOOLS

The Giant Step Teen Conference brings teenagers together from diverse backgrounds to discover the important issues they have in common. Last year, 266 teens from 46 different schools met at the annual conference to improve attitudes, open minds and embrace differences. Public, private, charter and parochial schools – even home schools – from districts across southeast Michigan sent students to Giant Step. Black, White, Asian, Arabic and Hispanic students entered as strangers but left as friends. Our trained facilitators and 28 years of working with teens help us bridge the gaps between students to promote inclusion, harmony and acceptance.

Registration is due October 22. The first 50
schools to enroll by October 10 receive a pass
for free parking ($6.00 value). Students must be
nominated by their counselor, principal, church
or youth organization. Only 9th and 10th grade
students may attend. Conference is free but
limited to first 300 students.
