GENERAL INFORMATION

1.     Seniors!        If you are working on a scholarship, you MUST collaborate with Mrs. McClure! 

Email all your scholarship essays to her for editing for submission.

Scholarship help is first-come, first-served! 

Submit all your essays well before the scholarship deadlines!!!!

2.     You must turn in all letters to Mrs. McClure that have to do with money -- scholarship $, TIP $, and all financial aid award letters from colleges!!

 

SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION

Detroit College Promise Scholarship and Detroit Scholarship Fund

.       Check with Mrs. McClure to see if you are eligible for both of these scholarships!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!                       

Coleman A. Young Scholarship

.           GPA:                 2.5 or better   

.           Resume            

.           Statement of need declaration                         .           Parent W-2, US 2014 1040, or statement of welfare

.           Must a 4-year college/university/HBCU           .           Cap and gown photo - required                                     

.           3 recommendations

.           Essay:               4 pages addressing six points (about 1000 words)

.           Amount:           $5,000 per year up to $20,000

.           Deadline:          Must be postmarked by……….March 13, 2015             

Lawrence P. Doss Scholarship

.           GPA:                 2.5 or better

.           Must enter the field of accounting, finance, management, or business

.           Essay:               250 words – Describe your career goals

.           2 recommendations

.           Parent 2014 US 1040 or statement of welfare

.           List of community and school activities, and honors and awards

.           Amount:           $2,500

.           Deadline:          Must be received by……….March 15, 2015

Tau Alpha Omega Vision Fair Scholarship

.           GPA:                 2.8 or better

.           Must attend a 4-yr school

.           2 recommendations

.           Essay:               State your goals, objectives, and how they relate to your intended major

.           List of community and school activities with references and phone numbers

.           Biography:        To include your participation in activities and how this scholarship will impact your career           

.           Amount:           $500 - $1,000

.           Deadline:          Must be received by……….March 2, 2015

Delta Sigma Theta Scholarship

.           GPA:                 2.5 or better

.           2 recommendations

.           Essay:               1-pg about community service, leadership activities, and honors, college and career goals

.           Amount:           Unstated

.           Deadline:          Must be postmarked by……….March 16, 2015
