Bobbie Hilliard Scholarship

Dear Applicant:

Enclosed is a copy of the criteria for applying for a scholarship, and the application form.  The deadline for returning the completed application and the other requested data is February 21, 2012 all material must be postmarked by this date.

Students who are granted a scholarship will be notified by June 30, 2014. The announcement of the winners will be made at the Region V 36^th Annual Parent Professional Development Conference held in Detroit, Michigan during the week of March12 -16, 2014.

Students must be enrolled in fall classes at an institution of higher learning (College/University, Trade School, etc), before receiving the scholarship award.  A check will be issued to the recipient during the month of September, after proper notification has been received by the

Scholarship Chairperson. 

INFORMATION REQUESTED

1.                  Completed application

2.                  A five hundred (500), word essay why you need the scholarship

3.                  Transcript, including current grades and attendance record.

4.                  Proof of eligibility to receive financial aid from college (copy of grant, loan, etc.)

5.                  Two personal references (no family members).

6.                  Documented proof of acceptance letter from attending school (College/University, Trade School etc.)

7.                  A validated (notarized, stamped, registrar or president’s signature) class schedule from an institution of higher learning needs to be submitted prior to award distribution.

Criteria

1.          2.50 Grade Point Average

2.         Participate in a Title One Program

3.         Be involved in school/church or community activities

4.         Acceptance letter from college or university
